Our team of five ladies are so excited to see the excitement, first hand, from our 23 schools and several churches and supporting business that are participating in this wonderful adventure we call Milk It For Mully!
A big THANK YOU to all the schools that have welcomed us in to do presentations for this campaign! We each have had a lot of fun engaging with the students.
The five ladies that make up this fabulous team are: Natasha Harms, Margaret Friesen, Chantal Dyrkach, Chrisy Harms & Michelle Warkentin. Just ordinary citizens desiring to impact our community and our world for good.
In our Grande Prairie community we are collecting milk containers to raise money for the Mully Children's Family. They are an orphanage in Kenya, Africa that is facing a severe drought and they need help to raise the funds to drill a bore hole. Our campaign that started September 28th and runs for 8 weeks to Novermber 20th, 2009 will endeavor to raise $25,500.00 to go towards drilling one bore hole.
Currently MCF is trucking in water to feed their 2,013 children as well as take care of surrounding community members who are also in need.
We hope that the process will be smooth and that the students of Grande Prairie and area will have fun.
We have added a fun interactive bulletin for the kids to discover each week to add some interest to the campaign. This week’s bulletin contains some trivia that the kids might find interesting. At the bottom of the bulletin, is “Next Week’s Bulletin…”topic. This gives students a chance to e-mail us with their answers for next week’s bulletin. Each week we will post some of the interesting answers we receive as that week’s top ten. We will put the student’s name and school behind each submission. There will be a total of 8 bulletins – one for each week of the campaign so hopefully each school’s submissions will have a chance to be posted!
We ask that each of you PRINT the bulletin and post it above your collection box. If your students go onto your school website, you may want to post it there as well. Feel free to duplicate or print as many copies as you like to give your students a chance to participate. Or you can have your students check us out at our blog.
